Ideas, Ideas, Ideas. @Uberblond explains Strategy.

To be honest, I neither like info visuals nor do I enjoy reading most of the smartass ‘Everything will change’ decks anymore. Over the last couple of years Slideshare has become a Powerpoint dump of well-designed and extremely superficial documents…but sometimes I still find a Gem. In the beginning I thought ‘Ideas, Ideas, Ideas’ is just one more deck that explains how cool the world would be if you only wouldn’t sit in your shitty agency…but it isn’t.

The following presentation by Heidi Hackemer (@Uberblond), Strategy Director at BBH NYC is a great example of a well explained agency process. Heidi describes the structure of a strategically-founded idea in an ideal world, the pitfalls, the team processes and the desired output. Something I would be able to give to my dad to make him understand what the hell I am actually doing.

Strategy in a nutshell. Nothing more, nothing less – just well explained. Great job, Heidi.

The Truth. Adland according to 4Chan.

My friend Johannes just shared this great, comprehensive overview of the (London) 4Chan perspective on agencies (by adland). Or to be more precise – if there was a perception of the ad world on 4Chan it would look a bit like the one below. What? No clue what 4Chan is? I think I know a couple of agencies to send your CV to…

Agencies. What the hell is a Creative Technologist?

The job profile ‘Creative Technologist’ has become something like the It-job of 2010. I don’t know when these thing start, but if you want to be hot in digital nowadays you must be into social media a creative technologist.

I doubt there is a desperate need for an autonomous job profile like this in most digital agencies. But I sense there is one in rather traditional shops. BBH (even far from being a traditional agency) have an attitude on the role of a Creative Technologist. Or to be more precise – BBH’s Griffin Farley has presented his vision about the (future) role of a creative technologist.

As usual, great stuff Griffin.

87 ideas. A compilation which you should see.

The following deck is a compilation of 87 ideas by google Creative Labs. I really enjoy flipping through such presentations even though it reminds me how many brilliant creative thoughts are around even though it’s so hard to get them. Follow BBH Labs on Twitter who I mistakenly expected to responsible for this deck (in fact they weren’t, but they are cool anyway). Great work.
