The most interesting aspect of communities is how they more or less spontaneously self-organize. This morning BBC has posted a very interesting photo of the camp on Cairo’s Tahrir Square that has toppled a regime. The group has basically populated this central square for ~two weeks and has not only demonstrated how civilized a regime-change can be, it also has demonstrated how a community organizes itself.
Check out the interactive map of the Tahrir camp on BBC.co.uk.

North Korea. If it had a Facebook Page it looked like this…

Or to be more precise – if North Korea and its population had a Facebook page it would look like this. We have seen a couple of these fictional Facebook pages for History, God, or the USA during the Civil War. But most of them are quite lame. The fictional North Korea FB page is pretty close to reality. And guess what? They have even registered one under the Korean username “uriminzokkiri,” meaning “on our own as a nation”. Along goes a twitter and a Youtube page. My Korean unfortunately is too bad to understand what they say – but it most look a bit like the picture below. If you are interested in the sad truth behind it…the dissident footages from the stalinist horror show are a bit more realistic.

Times are a changing.
The U.S. Air Force chief of staff has just approved the new Air Force Cyber Badge. It will now be given out to the USAF cyber soldiers who are part of the newly formed United States Cyber Command. The mission of the US Cyber Command is to coordinate computer-network defense and direct U.S. cyber-attack operation. Hell yeah, it is 21st century. And we are now waging war with bytes and bombs.
